Northgate Community Garden...

Located on Zoellner Road, just south of Compton Rd, 65 plots will be available for the 2021 growing season by members of the Colerain community and members of the church.  Currently, all for plots for 2021 have been reserved, however we are keeping a wait list in case someone's plans change.  Call the church office at 513-385-8342 or CLICK HERE for application form.  You can download and print the application form, then mail it to the church office (3301 Compton Rd), or contact the garden leader at 513-403-9548.  Welcome to the garden!

                10' x 20': $20/year             20' x 20':  $40/year

Not sure what size plot would be best for you?  We recommend a 10' x 20' plot for all new gardeners.  

What Size Garden Plot is Right for Me?

10ft x 20ft = 200 square feet

Best for: New gardeners, singles, couples, and other busy people

Estimated labor:  3-5 hours/week of weeding, watering, harvesting

Example of what can fit in a half plot (ALL of the following): 

  • 10 tomato plants = 50-100+ lbs of tomatoes
  • 10 pepper plants = 40 bell peppers
  • 4 squash or zucchini plants = 20 squash or zucchinis
  • Two rows of lettuces = 8 plastic grocery bags full
  • Two rows of kale/chard/collard greens = 15 plastic grocery bags full
  • 10 cucumber plants = 20 cucumbers
  • A few plants of assorted herbs

20ft x 20ft = 400 square feet

Best for:  People with experience gardening, families with children, people who want to try canning/preserving excess produce

Estimated labor:  6-8 hours/week of weeding, watering, harvesting

 

Example of what can fit in a standard plot (ALL of the following): 

  • 15 tomato plants = 80-150+ lbs of tomatoes
  • 10 pepper plants = 40 bell peppers
  • 8 squash or zucchini plants = 40 squash or zucchinis
  • Three rows of lettuces = 12 plastic grocery bags full
  • Three rows of kale/chard/collard greens = 25 plastic grocery bags full
  • 15 cucumber plants = 30 cucumbers
  • One row of beans = 5 lbs
  • One row of carrots = 5 lbs
  • 8 broccoli plants = 4 lbs
  • Assorted herbs
